To support our thin film optical coating operations. This position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a variety of mechanical, electrical, and vacuum-based equipment used in the production of high-performance optical coatings and supporting processes. This is a “hands-on” position that requires a high understanding of mechanical systems as well as good analytical and troubleshooting skills. The ideal candidate will prioritize safety, contribute to a collaborative team culture and play a key role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our production systems.
Perform scheduled and unscheduled preventative maintenance on production and facility equipment, including vacuum deposition systems, chillers, compressors, and cleanroom infrastructure.. Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and vacuum related equipment failures to minimize downtime. Maintain inventory of spare parts and tools, coordinate with vendors for repairs and replacement parts. Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests and participate in an on-call rotation if required. Identify opportunities to improve or upgrade aging equipment and systems, working with engineers and management to evaluate solutions that increase reliability, efficiency and safety. Proficient with hand and power tools, diagnostic instruments, and reading technical manuals and schematics.
