Requirements

• Provide procurement plans to meet forecasting and inventory requirements. Expedite/defer deliveries, as necessary, to support operational/cost objectives.
• Optimize inventory levels to minimize costs by managing inventory carrying costs, bulk purchase discounts, and lead times.
• Obtain competitive quotations and select suppliers based on quality, cost, lead-time, service, and financial stability.
• Identify potential new sources of supply and initiate supplier qualification activities.
• Respond to production issues and adjust purchasing schedule as required; communicate any major variations to affected parties (sales, customer service, etc.)
• Verify material requirements are being met while maintaining proper inventory levels.
• Primary interface for internal stake holders on day-to-day supply chain issues, concerns, and questions.
• Maintain solid communication channels with customer service and sales.
• Participate in scheduled Procurement Group meetings and one on ones.
• Develop, nurture, and facilitate new and existing relationships with all Suppliers
• Determine equitable order quantities utilizing sales history and forecast data
• Issue purchase orders – ensuring costs, quantities, and packaging are correct and order confirmations received.
• Ensure proper documents are received from supplier and distributed accordingly.
• Process purchase order receipts and warehouse transfers as needed.
• Arrange freight for inbound shipments as needed per shipping terms with supplier
• Coordinate with freight forwarders and carriers to ensure efficient transit of imported goods.
• Keep purchase orders updated in computer system – especially delivery dates.
• Additional duties, as required by management.
