The process of securing an interview can be daunting. You’ve spent the time formatting your resume, sending it out to various companies, and finally you’ve landed an interview at a company you’ve targeted. Your work isn’t done, not by a long shot. Now comes the most important part of the job search: the interview preparation.
Interview preparation is seen by many as the most difficult part of interviewing, but it doesn’t have to be. Luckily for us, there are many resources online that are created to assist individuals who are gearing up for an interview. One such source is Princeton University, who has created a helpful list of interview preparation tips and habits that can be found at this link: https://careerservices.princeton.edu/undergraduate-students/interviews-offers/preparing-interviews.
As you can likely imagine, the biggest take away from their list is to show up prepared, well researched, and well groomed. Put yourself into the interviewer’s shoes and think about the type of qualities you would look for when making a new hire. Mind your manners, ask intelligent questions, and project a strong level of confidence and you will find that you will get much more out of your interview opportunities.
