Hiring Recruiters to Meet Growing demand

Joseph Donahue, President of the Quincy-based staffing firm Micro Tech Staffing Group, has announced plans to hire six full-time recruiters to recruit skilled professionals in IT, healthcare, bio tech, finance, engineering, finance and administration, to meet the growing demand among local companies for temporary and permanent workers in these fields

Micro Tech Staffing, which once placed a high of 1,200 skilled temporary employees in businesses throughout Eastern Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Southern New Hampshire, saw its placement numbers drop to a low of 550 in the midst of the recent recession Now, however, in light of growing demand for temporary employees—a sign, economists say, of an improving economy both here and the other states they service—Donahue is looking to hire staff to handle the volume of requests that are coming in for temps with skills in fields ranging from manufacturing and accounting to research and information technology

"Locally we have gone from a low of 550 daily placements in March of 2009 to our present level of 1,050 placements today," said Donahue "The staffing industry is considered a bellwether industry because we usually see increased demand for workers 6-12 months ahead of businesses, as CEOs seek the flexibility in hiring temporary help before adding full-time staff Our plan to hire staff to recruit temporary employees is a direct result of increased demand I predict a return to our high mark of 1,200 daily placements by the end of the year, which bodes well for the local economy"

Donahue says he is looking for a mix of people, some with experience in staffing and sales, and others who are college grads with liberal arts backgrounds who possess energy and enthusiasm and the willingness to learn a new business that experts suggest is one of the fastest growing fields in the United States
